Who I am, and how I work
Hi! I’m Christina, and I started Perfectly Polished Proofreading because I love working with words.
I know that putting your message out there for the world to see can be scary. I understand—and have a great respect for—the power of words. In many cases, your words can be what form someone’s first opinion of you. We all know that the internet is filled with people who will judge you based on your word choices, your spelling, or your grammar. This doesn’t matter too much when you’re sending a text or writing an email to a friend, or even just composing a social media post.
However, when you’re writing for work, or for a client, or for anything that’s going out into the world and that’s going to reflect on you? Well, then word choices, spelling, and grammar become a lot more important. And that’s where I can help. Because your message needs to be heard by the world!
As a proofreader, I’ll make sure that what you’ve written comes across clearly, without any distracting typos or mistakes.
As a copywriter, I’ll take the time to get to know you—as well as your competition and your target audience—so I can craft original and compelling copy that reflects the unique voice of your brand.
I have a bachelor’s degree in English, and over 10 years of professional experience. About two years ago, I decided to leave corporate America to try my hand at entrepreneurship. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. When I’m not working, I love reading, cooking, and spending lazy days at home with my husband, my son, and my cat.

First, you fill out a short form letting me know what service you need (proofreading, copywriting, or something in between), the scope of your project, your timeline, etc.
This is to make sure that you and I are a good fit before we get started, and so that I can provide you with an accurate quote.
Next, we have a conversation either over the phone or through video chat.
I will ask you a lot of questions. This is so that I can get to know you, your brand, and your voice. (This usually isn't needed for proofreading but we can certainly have a call if you'd like!)
Deposit is due (usually 25% of quoted price).
Now it's time to get to work!
If I'm writing copy for you, this includes thoroughly researching your competitors and your industry before crafting compelling, original, and authentic copy in your brand's unique voice.
For proofreading, I will provide you with clear, actionable feedback.
For copywriting, you'll get a first draft of the copy to review (on or before an agreed upon due date) and if you like it, great! We're almost done!
If you don't like it, we'll revise it until you're happy.
For proofreading, you can look over my feedback and, if you'd like, I can do one final review to make sure it's perfect.
We did it!
I deliver the final copy to you (on or before the agreed upon due date) and final payment is due.
